Upcoming AirPods Max 2 is likely to have a touch control feature.
Incidentally, the Apple AirPod Max headphones used a digital crown for audio control. However, Apple has filed a new patent entitled “Wireless Headphone Interaction” (patented via the Apple Portal), which will replace this digital crown with a touch-sensitive surface.
