The best known name in the world of superbikes is Ducati. The company is set to launch its new model Scrambler Urban Motard in India. Although the launch date has not been announced by Ducati, some dealerships have started pre-booking unofficially. Although not yet in India, the bike is gaining traction in the international market. The Indian variant is expected to have the same specifications as the international model.
As the name implies, the Ducati Scrabler Urban Motard belonging to the Scrambler clan will be available in a dual tone paint scheme – Star Silk White and Ducati GP19. For performance, it has Scrambler Icon Dark’s powerful 803cc L twin desmodromic air-cooled engine. It produces a maximum of 63 bhp at 8,250 rpm and 8.2 Nm of torque at 5,650 rpm. It has six gears. With hydraulic slipper clutch and self-servo wet multi-plate clutch.
The Ducati Scrabler Urban Motard will have 330 mm discs on the front wheels and 245 mm discs on the rear wheels. Both wheels have the advantage of cornering ABS. The weight of the bike is 196 kg. Seat height 605 mm which is consistent with the weight. The diameter of the wheels is 18 inches. The front wheels have 120 section Pirelli Diablo Rosso III tires but the rear wheel tires are quite wide.
The main structure of the scrambler Urban Motard is made of steel and the front has used Kayaba company USD fork. Adjustable rear psychic suspension. The highlights of the bike are the side panel made of aluminum, full LED setup, LCD instrument cluster with gear and fuel level indicator, underseat storage, USB socket, custom graphics (tank and side panel), etc. Ducati will also be offering some more accessories after the launch.
The price of Ducati Scrambler Urban Motard is estimated to be around Rs 10 lakh. The upcoming bike will compete with the Triumph Street Scrambler, BMW R nineT Scrambler, and Harley Davidson Sports S in the Indian market.
