The 7th edition of EICMA motorcycle show held in Milan, Italy has just ended. NIU, a leading manufacturer of electric scooters, unveiled several models at the show. The most talked about of these is the YQi concept model. It is a special scooter that runs on gas engine and electric power.
The NIU YQi is essentially a hybrid scooter that does not rely on a single fuel. It has an electric powertrain as well as a gas engine. The engine is 150 cc liquid cooled and the electric motor has a capacity of 2.4 kW.
Combining the output of the engine and the electric motor stands at 14.5 kW or about 19.5 bhp. This means that NIU YQi hybrid scooter will have the same acceleration and speed as the motorcycle of 250 cc engine capacity.
NIU has announced the MQi GT EVo, RQi Sport, NQi GTS, and BQi KQi Pure electric scooters in addition to the YQi models. Among them MQi GT EVo is the fastest e-scooter of the company. It can travel 75 kilometers continuously. The maximum speed limit is 100 kilometers per hour Also each model will offer better range, efficiency, and comfort.
