Every year, well-known smartphone brands are launching their premium flagship devices in the market with some of the latest technology. Sometimes it has the latest chipset, but sometimes it shows the use of a completely new and special technology, which was not in the market before. Following in the footsteps of this trend, this year, the popular smartphone company, Oppo, is going to launch a new and innovative feature smartphone. The special feature used will probably add a different dimension to the phone, which will put it far ahead of the company’s previous phones. Recently, a teaser video of the upcoming phone was leaked on Oppo’s official Twitter handle.
The Chinese smartphone maker has shared a short teaser video of the striking new model on their official Twitter account, although the name of this feature-packed smartphone has not been released yet. However, the video was originally made focusing on the rear camera module of the device. As can be seen in the video, the primary shooter is housed in a retractable camera module on the rear panel. The company has dubbed this special feature ‘Oppo Retractable Camera’, as well as being informed that it is a self-developed camera technology.

The teaser video clearly shows the large image sensor piercing its camera module housing. The company has shared this demo video mainly to draw attention to this special camera feature with the ability to lift and retract. Without climbing vertically to the top, this special sensor extends horizontally and is mounted on a mechanical system, which will probably be activated after the camera app has turned on certain shooting modes. However, this retracted version can be activated as soon as the camera is opened which will enable the phone to have a more slim, beautiful and attractive texture.
Notably, in the video, the company also demonstrated the durability of this module through drop tests. All doubts about the design’s practicality have been dispelled when the sensor was expanded and water was sprinkled on it. We assume that this retractable camera system can also provide a better optical vision or hybrid zoom feature. However, nothing can be said for sure right now, as no such information has been received from the company yet. However, during the upcoming INNO WORLD 2021 event on December 14, we can expect to learn more about this new flagship phone from Oppo.
