Vivo is all set to launch its first foldable smartphone in the market soon. Speculation about this premium device has been going on for quite some time now. And this time a new report claims that the Chinese company is going to remove the screen on this much awaited foldable smartphone next month, i.e. in April. The codename of the upcoming device is also known as Butterfly. Let’s find out now from Vivo’s upcoming device.
Vivo’s first foldable smartphone is coming next month
A new report from the Jiemian site reveals the codename for the Vivo foldable phone and the launch timeline for April. If this information is true, then this phone from Vivo will be the latest foldable handset made by any Chinese smartphone maker after Honor Magic V and Oppo Find N. The Honor and Oppo handsets are among the latest devices to be launched in the Chinese market. So it is safe to say that Vivo will now compete with these two Chinese brands as well as with foldable smartphone makers.
Meanwhile, sources said that the Chinese company’s upcoming foldable smartphone will be one step ahead in technological advancement through its hinge or hinge mechanism. However, there will also be innovation in its main components and the device will compete with Huawei and Samsung foldable devices in terms of its performance. According to a report by the International Data Corporation (IDC), supply of foldable phones in China alone is expected to reach 1.5 million units last year.

Note that as the supply chain of this fancy version of the smartphone becomes more established (for components such as flexible screens, hinges and UTG protective covers), this number will increase. Analysis-based firms estimate that overall sales of foldable phones will double this year. So, it is not at all surprising that due to this huge popularity and demand, Vivo has taken the first step in the market of foldable phones with their upcoming devices.
