Despite repeated drastic measures, users are not shying away from dishonest activities, and as a result, WhatsApp, the world’s most popular instant messaging platform, is getting tougher and tougher. As in the past few months, Facebook (now Meta) owned more than 1.8 million (1.8 million) accounts in India in January this year for misusing the Internet and sending harmful or unwanted spam messages, or simply for immoral behavior on the platform. . This information has been given in the eighth monthly grievance compliance report filed by WhatsApp between January 1, 2022 and January 31, 2022.
The report further states that the messaging platform received 495 complaints in January, of which 265 were ban applications. Action has been taken against 24 accounts based on these allegations. There were also 135 account support reports, 30 other support reports, 33 product support reports, and 12 safety requests. It is pertinent to note that according to the new IT law of the Center, social sites with more than 5 million subscribers are required to submit compliance reports every month. They also need to know how many complaints have been lodged with them and how many have been prosecuted. WhatsApp has since started publishing this report.
In the context of the account ban, the instant messaging platform states that it uses its own tools and resources to prevent any malicious behavior from users, and that it only prohibits the identification of accounts. These tools are able to detect any malicious activity during the registration of an account, or during messaging, or when responding to negative feedback. Thus, it is as clear as water that any misconduct or abuse on this globally popular platform will not be tolerated by the organization.

In this context, WhatsApp has been working for the past few months to stop all illegal activities on the platform. According to the company, the main purpose of the instant messaging app is to provide users with a spam-free and extremely smooth and secure practical experience. So the company is determined to take such steps to maintain it. As a result, if any user engages in any malicious activity on the platform, they will not be exempted in the future, their account will be banned immediately. Needless to say, WhatsApp will continue to take such drastic steps in the days to come.
