It was announced last week that two devices under the Xiaomi 12 series, the Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12X could be launched on December 12. It was rumored that the first of this series of phones would use Qualcomm’s upcoming flagship processor, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. But a new report today claims that the Xiaomi 12 series could hit the market by the end of December. Not only that, a popular tipstar has claimed that Xiaomi will not launch any device with Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor this year.
Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12X may launch at the end of December
A screenshot of an internal Xiaomi document has been leaked on Chinese microblogging site Weibo. Going by that document, the company will organize an event on December 26 this year, where the company’s new products will be unveiled to the public. These new products are being considered as Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12X. So the two phones may be launched on December 26.
The well-known Tipstar Digital Chat Station also claims that Xiaomi’s product launch conference will be held at the end of December and that Xiaomi 12 series is unlikely to have Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor. And if this tipstar information is correct, Motorola’s flagship device, Moto Edge X, will be the first phone with Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor. The new processor will be launched at Qualcomm’s Tech Summit event between November 30th and December 2nd. The Moto Edge X may hit the market a few days later.
Xiaomi 12 Expected Specifications
According to reports, the Xiaomi 12X may have Qualcomm’s flagship processor, the Snapdragon 870. Another flagship processor from Qualcomm may be offered on Xiaomi 12 phones. Earlier it was learned that both the models will have a full HD + AMOLED curved display with 120 Hz refresh rate. These phones will have the fingerprint sensor embedded inside the display. The Xiaomi 12X model is expected to have a display of 6.23 inches. There is speculation that the Xiaomi 12’s three cameras will be 50 megapixels.
