The growth trend of the Indian smartphone market in 2021 remained intact despite the shock of the extreme. According to market survey firm Canalys, India’s smartphone market is expected to grow 12 percent in 2021 compared to the previous year. In this case, the Chinese company Xiaomi holds the title of the largest supplier of smartphones. They currently hold the largest share of the smartphone market. On the other hand, after Xiaomi, Samsung has provided the largest number of mobiles in the domestic market. At the moment, they have pocketed the second-largest share of the domestic market. Vivo, Realme and Oppo are third, fourth and fifth on the list after Samsung. Note that each of them is known as a subsidiary of the BBK group in China.

I have already said that in the year 2021, the Indian smartphone market has seen significant growth. Last year, a total of 162 million smartphones were supplied to the domestic market, which is about 12 percent more than in 2020 (144.6 million). Popular Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi has played the biggest role in such results.
According to Canalys researchers, Chinese brand Xiaomi has supplied a total of 40.6 million units of smartphones in the country during the period under review. They currently hold 25 percent market share. In this case, the other companies present in the domestic market are far behind them. However, according to the survey, the market share and supply of smartphones of Xiaomi has decreased significantly during the period under review.
After Xiaomi, Samsung has provided the most number of mobiles in the country during the period under review. In this case, the company has seen an annual growth rate of 5 percent. They currently hold 19 percent market share. According to the report, their market share has also declined slightly during the period under review as compared to 2020.
2021 Chinese brand Vivo is in third place in the list of the largest smartphone suppliers in the domestic market. According to statistics, they have 16 percent market share. The company has supplied a total of 25.6 million smartphones in the country during the year. It is pertinent to mention that in 2020, about 19 percent of the market share was held by the company.

Realme and Oppo are in fourth and fifth place in the list of Canalis after the above three companies. The two Chinese smartphone makers have 15 and 13 percent market share, respectively. In 2021, the two companies launched a total of 24.2 million and 20.1 million smartphones in the country’s market, respectively, according to Canalys surveyors.
